Cassill to Drive for TRG Motorsports at Chicagoland
Mooresville, NC (July 8, 2010) - Landon Cassill will make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start behind the wheel of the No. 71 TRG Motorsports Chevrolet Impala SS at the LifeLock.com 400 to be run at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday night, July 10.

The recently turned 21-year old, July 7th, Cassill is a development driver for Hendrick Motorsports. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native and 2008 Nationwide Series Raybestos Rookie of the Year is excited to be making his second Sprint Cup Series start this weekend.

"The deal came through Dan Stillman (TRG Motorsports crew chief) he put me together with Kevin Buckler," Cassill said. "We talked over the past couple of weeks and they needed a driver for this weekend and I am happy to step in. This will be my second Sprint Cup Series start, the first was in the No. 09 at Michigan. I have been spending my time as the development driver for Hendrick Motorsports and the No. 48, 5, 88 and 24 teams. TRG Motorsports is building a team and is trying to market their product and I am a driver in need of a ride. I need every opportunity to showcase my ability behind the wheel. I can't thank them enough for the opportunity. I hope this is a relationship that can grow.

I have run at Chicagoland in the Nationwide Series in 2008, I qualified eighth and finished tenth. My goal for this weekend is to focus on qualifying on Friday. In practice I want work with Dan and the crew and make the car as fast as we can make it. I want to make sure they see the potential in me as a driver and someone they can potentially market to sponsors."

Cassill's youthful enthusiasm goes right along with Kevin Buckler's, team owner, unique plan for his young team.

"I met with Landon a couple weeks ago and was very impressed by the 21-year old," Buckler said. "I was particularly taken with his fire and his enthusiasm to do whatever it takes to make it in racing. I like people who want it bad and are willing to work for it! He brings a lot of laps in a Sprint Cup Series car as a development driver for Hendrick Motorsports. He will be tested right from the first practice to get the car up to speed for qualifying at a very tricky Chicagoland track. We think he will inject some youthful excitement into this team this weekend. In our situation we just afford to conform to the norm of what everyone else is doing. We have to be clever with our assets and rely on our work ethic, team chemistry and explore creative angles to get the absolute most out of our race cars and team. When we tell our story and feature our brand we can be the perfect fit for the right kind of company or sponsor program. We are in a position where we can give a young driver a shot, like we are doing with Andy Lally and hopefully find something we like. We have some real momentum going with a strong couple of weeks and a ninth place finish at Daytona last weekend. I would like to extend that for the rest of the season. Everyone has a spring in their step again and that is a real positive for us."

The Sprint Cup Series LifeLock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway will be televised live on TNT with prerace starting at 6:30 p.m ET. Qualifying will be live on the SPEED Channel starting at 6:00 p.m.
